“If pigments are to painting what notes are to music, these experimental pigment paintings are a space for me to find harmonies and resonances.
Colour and stroke synergise, sometimes imbued with the sounds of musicians such as Thelonius Monk, Björk, Philip Glass, Fela Kuti, Loose Ends, sometimes created from quiet states of being.”- Ritu Sood
Sood’s artworks act as ‘portals’ into seeing what connects us, and are rooted in a profound political sensibility. Sood gained a Masters degree in Painting from the Slade School of Art, London, studying Fine Art at Chelsea School of Art and Norwich School of Art before that. She is based at SVA, Stroud.
Ritu will also have her studio open at SVA for Site Festival Open Studios, exhibiting her ‘Moodscapes’ paintings. Plus her ‘Synergies’ series is on show at the Taster Exhibition.
