Aleph Contemporary in Stroud proudly presents “Art in Destruction, A Journey Through Ruins and Figures,” featuring British painter Alexander Adams. This compelling exhibition, Adams’s first major solo show in Britain in over a decade, explores themes of defacement and decay in historical narratives.
Highlighting pieces from 1995 to new works, including the first public showing of “BOY (A)” a preliminary version of the work acquired by the National Museum of Wales.
HOWEVER WEAK, FLAWED, EVIL OR UNFASHIONABLE, THE ARTIST – AND WE MUST REMEMBER THAT EVERY PERSON (INCLUDING US) IS THE PRODUCT OF OUR ERA AND CULTURE - TELLS US A TRUTH ABOUT OURSELVES THAT WE MAY NOT WISH TO ACKNOWLEDGE.
